About Me

Interracial Identity and growing up as the byproduct of interracial generations. A generational curse of racial ambiguity and fetishism. The feeling of always being on the outside looking in, at an infinite crossroads within oneself. The use of the colors black and white not only represent the artist's heritage as a mixed woman, but also the connection white and black have had with each other throughout history. The use of contradicting materials and styles is another take on being mixed. Nothing should necessarily go together, the work is somewhere between. Between sculpture and painting, the surreal and real, and in between cultures.
